8 Hot Valentine Restaurant tips in Hawke's Bay

Valentines Day is a time when many couples feel compelled to shower their loved one with affection and those that are single either shun or celebrate the day depending on how they feel about it. Yet other's feel that it shouldn't be just one day a year that gratitude and love should be shared around but every day.

Tweet2eat believes any excuse for a dinner out is a good one and so Valentine's Day is the ideal excuse to dress up stylish and impress your partner. But there's something you've got to know, if you don't already. Some restaurants can end up becoming 'couples-ville' so here's 8 tips of when and where to go to make sure your Valentines Day is special.

1. Go to a winery. Where some restaurants can go over the top with red roses and balloons, you can be assured that wineries remain summery and simple. Last year Elephant Hill gave a glass of free rose to Valentines tables. Nice touch. This will be another place to book in advance. Book Online

6. Go opulent on Valentines Day at The Old Church in Meeanee. The restaurant is starting to build a consistent following of foodies enjoying ex-Kermadec chef Richard Highnam's dishes. The interior of the old church is plush and if you really want to go all out (for a marriage proposal maybe?) then book the mezzanine area at the rear of the church. Book Online
